You may have heard a lot about Trivita. Is there a Trivita Scam? It's a sublingual tablet containing a blend of B12, B6, and folic acid that is supposed to boost your energy and improve your overall health. But the real question is, does it work? Or is Trivita a scam, like so many others? Trivita's been shown in independent testing to have exactly the level of the B complex vitamins it claims. Each of these B Vitamins does something a little different, but all of them are necessary for many of your basic cell processes to work properly. Folic acid (which is technically B9) is a vital link in the body's process of duplicating DNA. This makes folic acid necessary for the body to create new cells, particularly in the bone marrow where red blood cells are created. A deficiency in folic acid can lead to anemia. Because too much folate can mask the symptoms of inadequate B12, both vitamins should be taken in a balanced amount. Folate helps reduce the risk of stroke, and is also important in brain function and mood balance. Vitamin B6 is a more difficult to understand substance. It is a critical link in the cellular energy processing chain, and not having enough of it can cause a variety of problems, from skin conditions to neural malfunctioning. A deficiency in vitamin B6 has been related to Parkinson's disease. Vitamin B12 is also part of the cellular energy processing chain, and is important for blood health as well as neurological health. It's a little different from the other two. Bacteria in the gut can produce B12 in adequate amounts for most people. But as you age, a problem arises. Your lower intestines begin to have trouble absorbing nutrients, including the B12 that technically is present in adequate amounts. This is why doctors give B12 shots – to circumvent this gut absorption problem. Getting regular shots just to get your vitamins, however, is no fun at all. Trivita circumvents the problem of the shot by having a sublingual delivery route; it dissolves under your tongue to be absorbed into the bloodstream. This is where the Trivita Scam question comes up: how can it possibly be properly delivered in that location? And are there other generics that can do just as good a job? Why There Is No Trivita Scam There is no Trivita Scam because Trivita can prove their products do exactly what they advertise: melt under the tongue in a smooth, predictable way so that your sublingual bloodstream can absorb the vitamins in it directly. Their researchers have proven that 98% of the vitamin B complex in Trivita enters the bloodstream, and the blood level of B12 rises 90% soon after Trivita is taken. That means Trivita has approximately the same effectiveness as a B12 shot. Not only is there no Trivita Scam, you should watch out for those who advertise cheaper equivalents. Trivita does not work through other companies to make their products; no authorized generics come from their factories. But Trivita's contents have been proven to be exactly what they claim. A fly-by-night generic, working out of anywhere from China to Canada, could have anything in their product. Be careful whose word you take. Before accepting a claim by a stranger about a Trivita Scam, follow the money; who does it benefit if you believe them? |
