Success Motivation Institute Expert Review by Brian Garvin and Jeff West

By Brian and Jeff On April 2, 2009 Under MLM-Programs-S

At Success Motivation Institute they believe that everyone is capable of being successful, using their God-given talents. The potential that every person has is not always challenged enough. In fact, most people do not challenge themselves enough. They find a comfort zone and stay within that limit or they challenge themselves enough to succeed a little at a time in order to avoid disappointment.

Success Motivation Institute allows people to seek their goals in a certain amount of time so they don’t spend their entire lives looking and searching for something that they are unsure of. Next, the Success Motivation Institute helps to instill a positive attitude. Finally, they help to place emphasis on the development of personal and professional skills that will help to succeed in the future as far as money is concerned. All of these are important as far as Success Motivation Institute is concerned.

In order to succeed and achieve all that you need and deserve, Success Motivation Institute helps a person to reach their goals, help to develop new skills that have never been discovered, create a positive attitude and image about themselves, take advantage of all the opportunities that life has to offer, define their goals by writing them down on paper. That will create a work plan for success. Success Motivation Institute declares that they have a proven method to motivate individuals for a permanent result.

At Success Motivation Institute they have a high success rate and more businesses are using the Success Motivation Institute to motivate themselves, co workers, employees and more. The Success Motivation Institute can foresee this type of motivation program necessary in the future due to the challenging and competitive world.

Without motivation, people would develop a negative attitude, uncertainty for themselves and for those around them. The lack of giving all they have to improve their quality of life would be something that is altered, regardless of how hard they try. People respond to positive thinking and attitudes.

They thrive on a pat on the back or simple words of encouragement. Without them people would soon lose confidence in themselves as well as others and everyone would live in fear; fear of themselves, fear of mistakes and fear of becoming something that they hoped they would not become. At Success Motivation Institute there is also a belief that they can increase motivation on a personal level.

Why would this be necessary? According to Success Motivation Institute, to be more motivated would decrease stress, would increase one’s ability to deal with stress in a positive attitude, they would desire a better life for themselves and their family, and spend more time becoming what they hoped they would be when they became older. They won’t be caught up in the hurried “rat race” way of life and instead become easy on themselves and everyone around them.

Success stories are found on the website. It advertises that they have been changing lives for 44 years and still going. To become a distributor, a person needs to be motivated and have realistic dreams that will help build your sales. A person must have a positive self image and become enthusiastic in order to inspire others.

The hardest person to motivate is yourself. It is vital to be strict and focused with your own goals, otherwise you will find that you will not hit them.

I heard that in order to illustrate a point in one of your meetings – a frog was placed in a fishbowl type bowl with an open top. It was heated by a bunson burner and allowed to boil supposedly illustrating that the frog wasn’t motivated and thus did not jump out of the bowl before the water boiled and killed him.

If Mr. Meyer was so close to Jesus what in the world made him do this? It makes me sick and if this is true I plan on exposing this practice to the world.

Please kindly email me back to whether it is true or not. Someone who went through the program actually witnessed this.

If this ever happened, or is still happening I would suggest you never let it happen again because it is so cruel. Could someone in your franchise system be doing this? Thank you, P. Press

Hey,

i heard about the same story, only it was like 30 years or so ago…

The purpose of that “alleged” experiment, or illustration, was to point out, that if you lit a brunson burner, under a frog, that was sitting in a petry dish, in a little water…

If you started the flame off, real low, and just gradually let the water get warm, and then warmer, and even more warm… even though that frog was VERY CAPABLE of jumping clear of that, PROCRASTATION would get the better of it..

The frog gets more and more comfortable, so gradually, that there isn’t any sudden fear… He keeps figuring, that he will just sit there, real comfortable, for JUST a little longer… until it’s too late…

However, if you were to just thump on that glass real sharply, the frog would snap out of it, and jump clear, on his own…

And THAT is what “Intensified Goal Setting”, with “Spaced Repetition” (the S.M.I. way) WILL do for someone..

i know that for a fact, myself, through my own personal experience, when i first started selling for a living..

i listened to a few S.M.I. Sales Training tapes, over and over, until one day, i was driving down the road, and all of a sudden, something WITHIN, just TOOK OVER, and i pulled the car over, and jumped out, and started knocking on doors, and made some sales… Awesome.!! i didn’t have to muster up that strength and boldness, with the force of my own will, it just SPRANG out from me, from within..

Sometimes, an illustration like the frog, are great ways of opening people’s eyes, and proving a point… No, Paul Meyer wasn’t a cruel beast, that got his kicks out of torturing animals.. He probably saw someone else do it once, and then talked about it..

i do remember hearing Paul Meyer, on a Sales Training tape, elaborating on that fact, and then saying something to the effect… “… it will actually happen.. that frog will just sit there and stew, if it’s done gradual enough… it makes a heck of an illustration… ”

i believe he also mentioned another illustration, concerning an elephant.. that when it’s small, they have a big chain, around his foot, and the other end is attached to a peg in the ground…

They elephant keeps looking back, behind him, and seeing that PEG in the ground… and that PEG is burned into his memory.. every time he tried to break loose, that peg stopped him..

And so, years later, when he got real big, they didn’t have to use a big chain any more, just a rope, that he could easily break free from, if he tried hard enough.. But, as soon as he felt that PEG, he would stop, and not even try any more, to break free…

That’s the kind of negative conditioning that happens to us people, also..

We get to believing we can’t succeed, and lo and behold, we don’t succeed..

That particular illustration (of that frog) that Paul Meyer was talking about, was probably a true story, that happened 30 or 40 years ago… and back then, it was a different world altogether..

Back then, you could spank, and correct your unruly children, out in public even… Now, if you tried to do the same thing, someone will call the police on you… Even though “sparing the rod” definitely “Spoils the child”, and even though a lot more kids these days, turn out real rotten, for lack of proper love and discipline, the court system is still very actively counter-manding, and under-cutting parental control, to the extreme..

i know that over the years, several motivational authors, have done a lot of editing, and re-writings of their original recordings, so as not to “offend” certain people….

Oh… to be living back then, in the Good old Days…. back when MEN were MEN, and the kids had RESPECT for their elders.. and when you could drive home a good point, with a startling experiment, without getting all the tree huggers and mother earth lovers, all up in arms…

And whichever frog that was, that was part of that illustration, we can take comfort, in the fact that he died, for a GOOD CAUSE… Happy, peaceful, and content.. just drifted off to sleep.. and woke up in frog heaven…

He was a GROWN FROG… he had the opportunity, the free will, and the capability, to just jump out of that petry dish, ANY time he wanted, but he CHOSE to procrastinate, until it was too late.. NO body HELD him down, or FORCED him to sit there, while the water got hotter and hotter, and hotter…

Also, that frog probably signed a contract, ahead of time, absolving the guy conducting that experiment, of all harm and/or negligence..

And, that contract was probably notarized, filed, and recorded, at the county court house, at least thirty days, prior to that taking place…

You might say, that that frog, gave his life, for science, and for the betterment, of the human race, willingly.. May he swim, and jump from lilly pad to lilly pad, happily ever after, in frog heaven…

amen…
