I went to a Once a Upon a Family celebration and was hooked. It really struck a chord with me and the goals I have for my family. While I had never been interested in other MLM opportunities, I thought this one could work for me. I signed up, went through some training, which was very informative and professional, and started my new business.

I invited friends to my first celebration and had a mediocre response. I gave a couple of "family traditions" talks at my local library. I then planned my "big" party with my friend who's a successful Arbonne rep. We invited over 100 women between us. Only one woman replied that she would come. That made it clear to me that this would not be a successful business.

I'm thankful I did it because I use quite a few of the ideas with my family today and it has truly enriched our lives. But when budget-conscious women see items they can easily make themselves, they aren't inclined to buy an expensive candle or journal. They appreciated the ideas, but sharing ideas didn't bring in the sales, at least not in my experience.
