Sallie Broach is the founder of Just Ducky Originals. 1980 was the first year for this style of made to order line of clothes. Only available through home shows which are held twice a year, the samples for Just Ducky Originals are designed and shown for choosing the style they wish to order. Between July and October the fall/winter line is shown and the spring/summer line is shown between January and March.

Hostesses have a home show for both of these seasons and help customers choose the styles they want to have made. That is what makes Just Ducky Originals so unique. The customer picks the fabric, the design of the clothes, and even the trim, such as buttons and monograms. The orders are put in and the delivery date is set for their new clothes when they are completed.

If you think you would like to be a Just Ducky Originals hostess or co-ordinator, there is a simple process of filling out an application which is reviewed. Then they contact you with more information about the program. Taking into account the area you are in and the number of people that you can send invitations to is part of the review process. Phone numbers are required for contact for more personal interviews.

Should you be accepted a fee of $100 is required to ensure that you are committed to really becoming a hostess. You get half of it back after your first party. All invitations, party favors, and materials are provided at no charge to ensure that you have everything you need to have a party.

A training manual is provided to take you step by step through the process of the party. You will be working with a hostess co-ordinator so any questions or problems can be handled right away.

There are also guidelines to show you how to become a hostess co-ordinator which requires more of a commitment. An area co-ordinator makes more money as they receive commissions on the sales of their hostesses.

Earning commissions at Just Ducky Originals is a matter of selling their product and hostesses can earn 35% to 40% on anything that they want to purchase for themselves. Samples are provided, which come in a trunk for the party. Shipping of the trunk with samples is paid for by Just Ducky Originals. Postage for invitations is the responsibility of the hostess. A typical party is expected to have at least one hundred guests.

There is also a catalogue that you can request to order directly from should there not be a hostess in your area. This is convenient for a number of people who may not have time to attend a party, but still want the original look provided by Just Ducky Originals.
