Ecoquest Expert Review by Brian Garvin and Jeff West

By Brian and Jeff On March 29, 2009 Under MLM-Programs-E

The company is a manufacturer of the Ecoquest Air Purification system. This system claims to relieve breathing problems such as asthma and allergies and other breathing difficulties. The technology of this air filter is somewhat the same as any other air filter, but this one has a carbon filter and a ultra-violet light ionizer source. The main advantage of the UV source, they claim, is that the UV is able to kill microorganisms and bacteria in the air.

The ionizer then reduces the pollutants in your home by producing ozone. But there are some that claim that Ozone is a gas and is a major component in Smog. Cell damage can be caused by Ozone in the nasal passages and lungs, and this can be a harmful threat to anyone that has a breathing disorder. Air purifiers are a benefit if they are what they claim they are. If, in fact, Ecoquest is making a product that does what they claim, then they should be able to sell them without any problem and you should be able to make some money doing this business.

They seem to be venturing in laundry purifiers and nutritional supplements now. Their nutrition products include sports nutrition and weight management. They also are involved in water purification systems.

Ecoquest seems to be disconnecting themselves from their predecessor, Alpine Industries. What some don’t realize, Alpine is the parent company for Ecoquest. When the Federal Trade Commission found out about the claims, they told them to stop. Well, the company didn’t stop all the way; they did post a warning label on the side of the purifier stating a new warning. But they didn’t stop making the claims that it relives asthma and respiratory problems.

There were some litigation between Ecoquest and the FTC and the company was fined $1.49 million on the health claim charges. I guess it doesn’t pay to sue the Federal Trade Commission when they have the upper hand.

So, needless to say, Ecoquest has not had the best reputation to work with. They have a network marketing system in place and have even tried to sell them door-to-door to get their name out as Ecoquest, and again distancing themselves from the Alpine Industry name.

In the Ecoquest business opportunity end of things, they provide you with the ability to do retail sales or you can help others build their business. They offer incentives such as travel dollars, company funded travel and expense program. They offer a luxury bonus car and annual profit sharing. Another incentive they have is trips to exotic places all over the world as a vacation for you. And they offer earnings from 6% to 42% on your group activity.

As with any other MLM Business program, they all seem to be the same. If you work hard and stay committed, you will make some money. If you think just by signing up a few recruits will do it for you, then you will be disappointed. Check out the company and review them compensation plan. Is this a company that you can feel confident with and represent them in such a way that those around you will want to purchase their products? Give it a try then, AFTER your research is done.

Have you noticed an increase in the number of comments since installed KeywordLuv? I’ve been considering using it on a blog I own and need some honest feedback.

Yes but almost all the comments have been on our page explaining the KeywordLuv and CommentLuv process on our nichey sites. However on this website we’ve been receiving quite a few more genuine comments. The Top Commentators Widget and Do Follow Plugins help a lot to.

Brian/Jeff, I appreciate your starting this forum, since I’ve been “taken” by a number of MLM scams over the years. I know there are some out there that are not scams, but there really isn’t one good source to learn about them. You’ve filled that niche!

The only question I have is, do you have some sort of “table of contents” that lists the MLM programs you have reviewed?

Thanks again.

I think that MLM can be a tough way to make some money. Like you said, if you stick with it, and work hard I guess it can be done, but you are really dependent on the people in your downline working hard too. If the people you recruit don’t do much, you won’t make much.

As far as the keyword luv plugin, I think the problem is that a lot of marketers are making a separate page for the plugin, where they tell visitors to stay on topic or their comment will be deleted. Well the only topic there, is their post about the keyword luv plugin, so that’s what everyone talks about.

The way you have it here is the right way, so people can get involved in the subject of your pages. Just my two cents. Glenn

Seems like MLM manufacturers are always involved with some sort of litigation and battling with the FTC.

I just wanted to mention that I don’t have much knowledge of the MLM side of the business, but the air purifiers are not very good. They produce ozone which is very harmful to people. If you look their are lots of complaints about the quality.

What I thought might be interesting to MLMs is that in my research about the air purifiers I found complaints about the business side as well. There were many complaints about the customer service being horrible and customers being lied to in order to make a sale. They didn’t sound like a respectable company to me.

They were Alpine air until 2000. Changed to Ecoquest. In April of 2009, they changed to Vollara. Seems like they are trying to hide from something to me.

Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.
